It appears that Schultz’s drive is towards 25 from the bottom.
PULLMAN – Washington State University President Kirk Schulz’s “Drive to 25” initiative has been retired and replaced with a new strategic plan.
President Schulz announced his “Drive to 25” imitative when he was hired 6 years ago. The effort tried to get WSU ranked among the top 25 public research institutions in the country by 2030.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reported in 2018 that Schulz announced that WSU ranked 52nd among those institutions. WSU spokesman Phil Weiler was unable to clarify with Pullman Radio News’ recent request to see if Schulz’s goal for the “Drive to 25” was ever reached. The Center for Measuring University Performance which was used for the rankings apparently hasn’t conducted any metric evaluations since the pandemic began.
An online post from WSU includes a statement from the Vice President for Strategy, Planning, and Analysis Christine Hoyt who said that a lot was accomplished with the initiative.
That same post also announced that the updated strategic plan for WSU focuses on the new OneWSU system structure and its commitment to the institution’s land grant mission of practical education for all.
