Washington State University says it has enrolled an all-time record number of students for fall 2019 across its five campuses and online degree programs.

This semester’s headcount of 31,607 students tops last fall’s enrollment of 31,478, the university said in a news release Wednesday, noting that systemwide enrollment has increased each year since 2013.

The growth has not been even across WSU’s campuses. The main campus in Pullman has enrolled 20,976 students this semester, a decrease of 46 students compared with last fall – part of an effort to control the freshman class size after a campus housing shortage in 2018. The Tri-Cities campus also saw a slight decrease, enrolling 1,813 students.

The student population on the Spokane campus, which includes the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, has grown to 1,685. The Everett and Vancouver campuses also gained a few students, enrolling 283 and 3,585, respectively.

WSU Global, which runs the university’s online programs, saw a nearly 6% increase compared with last fall, enrolling 3,265 students.
