Water cannon & burned out cars: Violent riots continue in Hamburg after G20 summit

What’s the difference between a protest and a riot? Protests are peaceful and are covered by freedom of speech. Rioters break the law and do damage to people and property. Rioters should be dealt with as criminals and have to repay the damages that they cause.  

Violent confrontations between police and protesters continued in Hamburg in the early hours of Sunday morning, even after all of the G20 leaders had left. Police said they had to deploy water cannon against demonstrators who were burning vehicles.
