University of Idaho Selects New President

Green scottI didn’t see this coming. I thought there was no way that they would elect a non-academic to be president.

It’s a bold, wise move, if UI wants to turn around its shrinking enrollment.

MOSCOW – The Idaho State Board of Education unanimously selected Scott Green as the 19th president of the University of Idaho.

Green is the global chief operating officer and financial officer of Hogan Lovells, an international law firm.

He’ll succeed President Chuck Staben.

Green will meet with the community at 10:30 a.m. today in the Administration Building Auditorium on the Moscow campus.

State Board President Linda Clark said she believes Green will bring a unique set of skills to the University of Idaho.

“I think the University of Idaho will be in good hands going forward,” Clark said.

Green’s annual salary will be $420,0000.
