University of Idaho home football games are formally going dry. The Idaho State Board of Education Thursday morning rejected a proposed policy change from the UI to allow booze in the Kibbie Dome parking lot for tailgaters. The vote was 4 to 4 which is a denial. The proposal was crafted by the UI after the board clarified that the institution’s practice of allowing alcohol for tailgaters went against board policy. The UI for years has been turning the dome lot into private property on game days to get around the state’s alcohol prohibition. The vote doesn’t affect the Lighthouse Center premium seating inside the Dome which will become the only place were alcohol is allowed on game days.
