HHS has provided their “U.S. Federal Poverty Guidelines”.
I wish they would make a distinction between abject poverty and those who live above their means.
How many people with income below the poverty line have an iPhone (and all the cell and data costs that accompany that), cable TV, big flat screen TVs, computers, video game controllers (and tons of games), etc., and then use taxpayer-funded welfare to put food on the table.
It would be wonderful if there were means testing before handing someone over a free lunch.
