Rep. John Conyers Resigns From House Judiciary Committee Role

NewImageMore housecleaning of more Democrats.

He says he’s innocent, but he’s stepping down anyways.

Democrat Congressman John Conyers resigns from his role as a ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee after numerous sexual harassment claims.

In a tweet today Sunday, the Michigan lawmaker said he has notified Nancy Pelosi he will step aside from his leadership post.

The decision comes after a number of former members of his staff accused Conyers of workplace abuses including sexual harassment.

The House Ethics Committee has launched an investigation into the allegations.

Despite the claims, Conyers has denied any wrongdoing.
