As of Friday night, Randolph and Calhoun counties in eastern Alabama had each reported 10 inches of snow according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
The weather service logged reports of 8 inches, 7 inches and multiple reports of 6 inches across the state.
The Birmingham International Airport had recorded 4 inches of snow as of noon Friday, making it the third highest December snowfall on record.
Although perhaps not all that impressive to Northerners, Mobile’s six-tenths of an inch as of 9:30 p.m Friday evening was still enough to set a record.
