Pullman Regional Hospital is receiving public comment regarding their consideration of offering gender reassignment surgery.
Here was my input to them:
In yesterday’s Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Terence L. Day argued that gender issues should be decided on science, not religion.
So I asked a veterinarian if gelding a colt turned that colt into a mare. He looked at me like I was crazy. Of course gelding a colt doesn’t turn it into a mare. Everyone understands this. If you braid a gelding’s mane and put flowers around its neck, it’s still a gelding.
In the past, when a man was emasculated, he was called a eunuch, not a woman. Mankind has known for thousands of years that you cannot biologically change sexes by removing/reshaping a few body parts. Current science has not changed that knowledge.
As many know, this practice has given way to trans-ablism: where people who identify as blind have their perfectly functioning eyes blinded; where people who identify as paralyzed demand to have their spinal cords severed; people who identify as deaf demand to have their eardrums destroyed.
All of these procedures require that the medical community do harm to their patients. That is not healing. That violates the historical Hippocratic Oath: do no harm.
Please vote for science and vote no on this matter.
