We’ve been 129 months (nearly 11 years) without a Category 3 (or greater) storm hitting the US mainland.
You may recall that Al Gore said in “An Inconvenient Truth” that hurricanes would be increasing during global warming, and that the National Weather Service was going to have to add a new Category 6 because the hurricanes were going to be so much more violent.
