Moscow Police cited a 38-year-old woman for allegedly allowing her 13-year-old daughter to drive her home Saturday morning.

According to Moscow Police, officers stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Brent Drive and North Main Street, after the vehicle crossed the center line on U.S. 95 near Rodeo Drive, was traveling at varying speeds and almost stuck a curb.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, police say the vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop on the sidewalk, flattening a tire. When the officers approached the driver’s side window, they say the 13-year-old girl jumped into the back seat, leaving the driver’s seat empty. Police determined the mother had become intoxicated at a friend’s house earlier in the night and asked her daughter to drive them home.

Officers advised the woman to call a taxi if a similar situation arose again. The owner of the vehicle was called to drive the woman and her daughter home.
