I post this for posterity.
Monday, December 30, is the 45th anniversary of the coldest temperature in living Lewiston memory. Here is a detail from the December 31st Lewiston Morning Tribune. I had worked all night near the Moscow airport when the record was set. There are few words to explain how everything, animate and inanimate, seemed to shiver in an attempt to keep warm. It was officially -22F in Lewiston. The high for the day was -8F.
