Have a Great Memorial Day, everyone!
I’m honestly not sure how long this holiday will exist, though. The progressives are attacking every piece of history in America.
Today’s Moscow-Pullman Daily News incorrectly writes:
Originally proclaimed in 1868 as Decoration Day by the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of Union veterans, May 30 was set aside as a time to honor the Civil War dead by placing flowers on soldiers’ graves.
That is false. If the editors are being deceptive, I’ll call it “fake news.”
Memorial Day was originally a holiday instituted in 1866 to remember the deaths of confederate Americans.
The northern states copied the south’s practice, calling theirs by the ridiculous name “Decoration Day.”
The southern name “Memorial Day” stuck, and has been used ever since.
As soon as the liberals figure out that we are celebrating an original confederate holiday, all hell will break loose. They will either change the name, or abolish the holiday.
So enjoy it while you can.
