Rep. Raúl Labrador, R-Idaho, today issued the following statement after President Trump signed a revised executive order on admissions to the United States:
“Congress has given the President broad authority to suspend entry of individuals into the United States to protect the national interest. President Trump’s willingness to do so should be applauded, and while I believe his initial order was legally sound, the implementation left much room for improvement.
“Today’s revised executive order begins fulfilling President Trump’s promise to put America’s safety first, and also ensures that our agents act uniformly at our borders. I’m confident that this revised order will help protect our nation while we strengthen our vetting system and properly secure our homeland.”
