The National Weather Service is refining its potential flooding forecast with the mid-week warmup expected this week.  Warm air from the South Pacific is expected to being arriving in the Inland Northwest Monday night and will stick around through Thursday.  Temperatures on the Palouse are predicted to stay above freezing Tuesday through Thursday.  The system is also expected to bring about 3 inches of rain to the Palouse.  Most or all of our snowpack should be gone by Friday which in some places is holding up to 5 inches of water.  Forecasters are predicting small stream and urban flooding caused by clogged storm drains.  Ice jams on rivers is also a threat.  Forecasters in Spokane are still saying that they do not believe the system will cause main stem river flooding.
