FEMA is accepting applications for federal dollars to help certain local entities in Idaho recover from March’s flood. President Donald Trump recently declared a disaster for 8 North Idaho counties for the flooding and mudslides between March 6th and the 28th. That designation includes Latah County locally. FEMA specialists are now in the area scheduling application briefings to help entities with the public assistance program. Only government entities and certain nonprofits are eligible for the program which covers up to 75% of the costs related to damage caused by the disaster. Those applications must be in by June 19th.
