Spy on Trump, just don’t call it spying. Not something the FBI ever wants to become public.
FBI Director Christopher Wray recently contested Attorney General William Barr’s claim that intelligence agencies spied on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.
During a hearing of the Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce Tuesday, Wray maintained the bureau is tasked with engaging in surveillance, but said it always does so lawfully and “by the book.”
“Well that’s not the term I would use…I believe that the FBI is engaged in investigative activity and part of investigative activity includes surveillance activity of different shapes and sizes, and to me the key question is making sure that it’s done by the book,” stated Wray.
