Due to regional wildfire smoke, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality issued an Air Quality Forecast and Caution with a mandatory burn ban to notify residents of Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce counties of degraded air quality.
Air quality was listed in the Moderate category Monday and was expected to remain in that category today. Some areas may experience hours of elevated smoke levels and move into the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category.
When air quality is labeled moderate, air quality is acceptable, however, people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution may experience health issues and should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
