Washington D.C. placed a ban on indoor dining in December amid a rise in COVID cases, in what has been dubbed the “Inauguration Pause.” The pause expired at 5am on Friday, just in time to stop in to Denny’s for a Grand Slam on your way to the gym, provided there are no more than 5 people per 1000 sq ft, obviously.
The opening plan allows for restaurants to operate at 25% capacity, not to exceed 250 people, you know, to exclude all those sneaky 1,000+ seater restaurants, who obviously care nothing about your health and wellbeing.
Restaurant Week in D.C. is now scheduled to take place Jan 25-Feb 7. On another note, I would like to suggest changing the name of the event to Restaurant Fortnight.
And in totally unrelated news, 600 miles away from D.C., Chicago will be loosening its restrictions on indoor dining beginning Saturday. Oh, and Michigan in relaxing their Covid regulations as well.
