Crime statistics up in just about every major category in the state of Idaho according to the Idaho State Police.
The ISP released its “Crime in Idaho” report for 2016. Crimes Against Persons, Property and Society up 5.4 percent from 2015. Crimes Against Persons, which includes offenses like murder, rape and kidnapping, up 3.7 percent. Hate crimes up 27 percent since the previous year with 28 total crimes reported.
Crimes Against Society rose by 14 percent. Drug and narcotic violations and drug equipment violations accounted for more than 94 percent of that category.
And Crimes Against Property increased by 1.9 percent from 2015. Larceny and theft offenses accounted for almost 50 percent of the violations.
