28 Dec 2017 – The temperature in International Falls, MN., plunged to -37F, breaking the old record of -32F set in 1924. Hibbing, MN., bottomed out at -28F, breaking the old record of -27F set in 1964.
Much of New England, northern Pennsylvania and New York along with states in the northern Plains and Great Lakes were forecast to see lows below zero for the rest of the week and into the new year.
