“Has global warming caused ice at the South Pole to disappear? Some believe so. But a study of the journals of great polar explorers from over 100 years ago like Ernest Shackleton and Robert Falcon Scott, indicate Antarctic sea ice has barely changed from where it was a century ago. According to the UK Telegraph, there was concern that man-made climate change had caused significant decline of South Pole ice since the 1950s. But new analysis reveals that conditions now are virtually identical to when the famous Terra Nova and Endurance expedition sailed in the early 1900s, indicating any temporary decline was simply part of a natural cycle.”
