Millions of Americans are bracing for an Arctic cold front sweeping the nation, which will bring chilling temperatures, heavy rain and snow. According to the National Weather Service, more than 67 million Americans are under some form of winter weather alert with temperatures expected to be record breaking.
Areas in the Midwest have already felt the brunt of the cold from Detroit to Chicago leading into Milwaukee. The dangerous weather caused delays and canceled flights at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Monday, leaving travelers looking for other ways out.
A plane slid off the runway upon landing at O’Hare after the city saw nearly six inches of snow fall. Additionally, at least four deaths have been recorded in connection to snow, ice, and poor driving conditions.
