A jury in Texas has ruled against Jeffrey Younger, who is attempting to prevent his ex-wife from chemically transitioning their son into presenting as a girl.
Dr. Anne Georgulas is the mother of James, 7. Georgulas and Younger were in court last week fighting over custody and decision-making abilities for James and his twin Jude. Georgulas said she wants fewer visitation rights for Younger, while Younger says she is transitioning James into presenting as a girl against the boy’s will.
The jury’s decision likely means that Younger will required to “affirm” James as a girl, as well as take a class on transgenderism. The jury voted that the current Joint Managing Conservatorship should be changed to a Sole Managing Conservatorship, but that Younger should not be granted the conservatorship.
Georgulas will now have the full authority to transition James to “Luna,” including starting him on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
Younger would also be barred from bringing James around anyone who did not also affirm him as a girl.
The jury only ruled on the issue of conservatorship. A judge will rule on the remainder of the case.
