From the Associated Press:
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho’s unemployment rate in May remained unchanged from the previous month at 3.7 percent. The Idaho Department of Labor in a news release Friday says gains in construction, financial activities and other services were offset by weaker-than-expected performance in manufacturing and wholesale trade. Other industries that were also weaker include health care and social services, leisure and hospitality, and professional and business services. Total employment for Idaho grew by more than 1,800 to 779,500. State officials say the number of unemployed Idaho residents increased by 50 to 29,880. The agency says the state’s labor force is 64.1 percent, up slightly from April’s 64 percent. That’s the percentage of people 16 and older with jobs or looking for work.
