More on the UI enrollment woes.
…
While the school made some progress on student retention, he said progression toward graduation is the goal. In that arena, the UI still has work to do, he said.“I believe that 80 percent of students who make it to their second year should graduate,” Staben said. “Our 6-year graduation rate should be about 65 percent, and it’s currently been fluctuating between 56 and 58 percent.”
There’s something to be proud of.
So here’s an idea: universities sign a pledge that students can graduate in 4 years as long as they don’t change majors, don’t fail any of their classes, and take a full load in accordance with the matrix in their freshman year. If the school cancels class offerings, they get to finish for free.
