Researchers say Islam will replace Judaism as America’s second largest religious group by 2040.

On Wednesday, the Pew Research Center estimated Muslims make up one-percent of the U.S. population in 2017 — at 3.4 million people.

In the past decade, the Muslim population in the U.S. has grown by one million people.

Experts say this is mostly due to immigration and not conversion.

The Muslim population is growing much faster compared to the Jewish people, and the population is expected to double within 30 years.
