New York Times Apologizes for Article that Normalizes a Nazi Sympathizer

NewImageThere’s a difference between reporting accurately and approving of something. Political correctness says that you cannot report on anything that you do not approve of. That’s crazy.

The New York Times is apologizing for its controversial article profiling a Nazi sympathizer in an attempt to humanize the fringe group.

The national editor for the Times published an apology Sunday, saying it regrets how much the piece offended so many of its viewers.

The article — titled “A Voice of Hate in America’s Heartland” — profiled a white nationalist and Nazi sympathizer from Ohio.

The publication says it never intended to normalize the man, but aimed to reveal how hateful views have become more normal in everyday life in the U.S.

The Times admitted it missed the mark, saying it imperfectly attempted to tell the story.
