Trump canceled never implemented Obama-era regulations that would allow foreign parents of American citizens to remain in the US.
I’ve never understood this policy from the start. The SCOTUS interpretation of the 14th Amendment says that anchor babies are citizens. But it doesn’t say the anchor baby’s citizenship makes the parents citizens (or automatically legal immigrants).
This is an easy fix: the parents take the kid home with them to their home country. When the child is 18, he may return as an adult without a parent.
