I watched the Comey testimony and read his statement. I’m being told by the media that Comey’s story is a “disaster” for Trump, but that’s not what I see. In fact, I think it’s more of a disaster for the Democrats.
Here’s what it comes down to: Trump’s opponents have accused him over and over again of colluding with the Russians and then ordering Comey to drop the investigation into his treasonous activity. They have called him a traitor and called for impeachment. They crafted the most extreme, worst-case narrative they possibly could, and Comey proceeded to debunk it. Trump WAS told that he’s not under investigation, he DIDN’T tell Comey to drop the Russia investigation, and he DIDN’T explicitly “order” Comey to stop investigating Flynn. All of the major accusations levied against him have been neutralized.
Not only that, it turns out Loretta Lynch is the one who obstructed justice when she interfered in the Clinton investigation. Like I said: a disaster for Democrats. Now, you may say that Trump acted inappropriately, incompetently, whatever, but that’s not what he was accused of. He was accused of criminal behavior, and no evidence was presented to prove that. His enemies overplayed their hands and they lost (again)
Matt Walsh: Democrats, time to find another way to destroy Trump. The Russia thing is a dud.
