I have previously noted that Doug Saunders has all the journalistic integrity of Josef Goebbels, and now on Twitter he has illustrated how avid Leftist “journalists” are to exonerate Islam of all responsibility for the crimes committed in its name and in accord with its teachings, and to demonize Christianity at all costs.
Saunders’ argument here is not that London jihad murderer Khalid Masood wasn’t Muslim when he carried out the attack. In the full Twitter exchange, he plays Clintonesque games in explaining why he said that Masood “was not a Muslim,” placing the emphasis on the “was.” He points out that Masood was a convert to Islam, as were other jihadis in Britain, and that they all had Christian families and upbringings. On that basis, he suggests that a Christian upbringing could be an indicator of “extremism.” If that were so, of course, we would see actual Christians committing acts of terrorism, not just Christians who converted to Islam. But for Saunders and other hard-Leftists, Islam is good and Christianity is bad, so denying the obvious and stretching for absurdity is worth the effort in service of whitewashing Islam and denigrating Christianity.
