States ask court to stop Trump’s new travel ban from ever taking effect

Five states have joined in a lawsuit against Trump’s new travel ban. The states argue that the restraining order preventing enforcement of the first travel ban should also apply to the new one. Hawaii is also challenging the new travel ban in a separate lawsuit.

States seek to block new Trump travel ban executive order

Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said his office is filing a motion asking a federal judge in Seattle to rule that an existing injunction against the travel ban order Trump issued in January applies to parallel portions of Trump’s new directive.
