After heart-wrenching victim impact statements and recommendations Thursday from the defense and prosecution, Latah County 2nd District Judge John Stegner sentenced Keagan Tennant, 17, to up to 25 years in prison.

The sentence, which follows a plea agreement with county prosecutors, includes five fixed years for four felony charges that include involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, principal to destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence and principal to robbery.

“I need to be shown that he is not a danger to society before he can be released to society,” Stegner said.
