The Strychnine Fire in North Latah County should be fully contained by the middle of the week. Fire managers are hoping to gain full containment on the Strychnine Fire by Wednesday night at 11:00. The blaze outside Harvard has torched about a thousand acres of slash, underbrush and timber. The fire is now 60% contained as crews are now mopping up. The human caused blaze started in the afternoon on Saturday September 2nd around 3:30. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The area around the fire near Laird Park remains closed.
