Mayor Lambert to make City Council appointment

This is a good move by Mayor Lambert. I didn’t vote for Brandy Sullivan, but the Moscow residents did.

Brandy Sullivan, who was recently elected to join the Moscow City Council in 2018, is expected to be selected Monday to fill the remainder of recently deceased Councilman John Weber’s term.

Her name will be submitted by Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert for council approval at the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Weber, who was serving a four-year term on the City Council, died Nov. 8, one day after losing his election bid for a two-year council seat. His current term was due to end on Jan. 2.

Sullivan was elected to a four-year term, while Anne Zabala defeated Weber for the two-year seat. Lambert said Sullivan will fill the remainder of Weber’s term, since he was serving a four-year term at the time of his death.

Zabala will join the council in January.
