Top House Republicans are demanding more documents from the Department of Justice, saying records received earlier this week do not comply with their subpoena.
Lawmakers set a Friday deadline for the DOJ to hand over information related to the Russia probe as well as the weeks and months leading up to it.
Earlier this week, the department provided some documents, which were reviewed Thursday by House Committee chairmen Trey Gowdy, Devin Nunes and Bob Goodlatte.
The men concluded those records do not meet the demands of the subpoena issued to the DOJ in April.
If the deadline is not met, the House must decide whether to hold the DOJ in contempt of Congress.
