Education Secretary Betsy Devos is evaluating her first year in office, saying she’d give herself a B+ to an A- for her performance.
Devos rated herself in an interview with The Detroit News on Thursday, but says there’s still room for improvement.
The education secretary says she will focus on cutting regulations and giving more power to the states
Devos plans on pushing for more school choice options, while restructuring the Education Department to work more efficiently.
Her agenda comes as schools are looking for security measures, following last week’s deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Devos added, she’s considering all options when it comes to protecting schools and said children’s safety is her number one priority.
