Gallup Poll of Interest: Post-Thanksgiving Retail Spending Trails Same Week in 2008

Recent polls of interest from the Gallup Organization:

Post-Thanksgiving Retail Spending Trails Same Week in 2008: Americans spent an average of $82 per day during the six-day period since Thanksgiving -- spanning the Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday. This is down 15% from $96 for the same six-day period in 2008. Spending is off most sharply among younger men.

There are two reasons that young men are most sharply affected. First, the “mancession” has affected them the worst. Second, raising the minimum wage has affected them the worst.
