Regional jobless figures still rising: Good news on national front not reflected in north central Idaho

The following article ran in the Lewiston Tribune.

A brightening in the U.S. economy hasn't filtered down to north central Idaho, where statistics released Friday showed that the unemployment rate climbed from 8.1 percent to 8.6 percent from October to November.

At the same time, unemployment in Asotin County rose from 7.8 percent to 9.7 percent. Those jumps went counter to what was happening in the U.S., where the unemployment rate dropped from 10.2 percent in October to 10 percent in November.
