Perverted for political purposes
Anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming (AGW) is a fraud. Science was perverted for political purposes. The media have mostly refused (except Fox News, and the Telegraph, in England, maybe a few others) to say much about the recent leaking of e-mails, computer programs and other data from scientists leading the scam. Thanks to the leaker, we can read e-mails from Phil Jones, director of the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University in England, Michael Mann, director of Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, James Hansen, director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and others who have been doing the heavy lifting for Al Gore and others pushing the meme that Earth's temperature is rising as it never has before and it's all our fault. The timing of this leak is quite fortuitous.
Some e-mails discuss destroying e-mails and data so as not to comply with the Freedom of Information Act. Others discuss manipulating data to "hide the decline" in temperatures since 1998 and repeatedly speak of quashing disagreement and ostracizing scientists not in agreement with AGW.
Scientists used to work to find the truth. Now they work for research grants. AGW has produced an enormous quantity of money for true believers who wouldn't let the facts interfere with the grantors' agenda. Governments and nongovernmental organizations paid $79 billion to prove AGW, only 3,000 times as much as funding for honest research. I would say those scientists prostituted themselves, but that would be an insult to the oldest profession.
