The Death Tax Blog Marathon

Via the Club for Growth:

A vote in the Senate on permanently repealing the Death Tax is likely to take place this Thursday. The House routinely passes it every year by a wide margin (272 - 162 last year), but the Senate can’t seem to muster the 60 votes to deny a Democrat-led filibuster.

The odds are slim that it will pass the Senate this year, but we know we’re close to the 60 votes. Republicans have 55 members in the Senate, but Lincoln Chafee is a strong NO vote. That takes it down to 54. The Nelson boys (Ben and Bill) are two Democrats who are strong YES votes. That takes it up to 56. After that you have various fence-sitters with different motivations.
